Successful workshop: 'Overcoming Barriers to Data Sharing in Interdisciplinary Research: A Dialogue with the Belgian Health Data Agency'

Published on 23 May 2025

On May 23rd 2025, a new TumorScope-workshop entitled 'Overcoming Barriers to Data Sharing in Interdisciplinary Research: A Dialogue with the Belgian Health Data Agency' found place at the VUB, Brussels Health Campus. During this participatory workshop we explored the challenges and opportunities of data sharing in interdisciplinary health research within the evolving framework of the European Health Data Space (EHDS).

Experts from academia, healthcare, IT, ethics, and policy were brought together to examine the practical implications of the EHDS and to identify what is needed to make data sharing both feasible and legally sound in Belgium.

We would like to thank everyone who attended for their presence, interests in the topics, the challenging questions, and the engaging discussions. Special thanks to Inge Franki, EU Case Manager for the Belgian Health Data Agency, for her interesting keynote and open discussion. See you all at one of our next events!
